Stay in our quirky 3-bed townhouse with views of the gorgeous River Severn, just a short stroll to the famous Quarry Park and medieval town centre.
Whether you are looking for a short- or long-term stay, let our little ‘ugly duckling’ envelope you and provide the ideal base for exploring Shrewsbury.
The “Ugly Duckling” of accommodation, we say this because this 1960s town house isn’t the prettiest from the outside, but inside, where you’ll spend your time, she turns out just lovely, with a cottagey feel, spacious rooms, and views of the River Severn which improve the higher up the house you go!
The banks of the river are a one-minute stroll away, one of Shrewsbury’s most-loved pub/restaurants, The Boathouse is a three-minute walk away with views of the 29-acre Quarry parkland which plays host to shows throughout the year and Theatre Severn is just 5 minutes’ walk away.
Other pubs, restaurants and shops are within minute walk and once you’ve crossed the historic Welsh Bridge, a few minutes from the property, you’ll be in the medieval town centre.
Whether you’re looking for a short break, to visit an event, a contractor or on business or looking for a longer stay, we are ready to welcome you. The town centre is accessible over the bridge in a few minutes.
Three double bedrooms, one bathroom and a cloakroom, a kitchen diner. It’s a spacious house that still has a cosy feel. And with an enclosed patio and raised decking area, the prefect spot to take in the famous August Flower Show fireworks, it’s a perfect home from home. Enjoy meals round the large dining table and then relax in second floor front room. Shrewsbury, a culturally rich and charming town where the old and new meet complement each other perfectly. Steeped in history, boasting a thriving arts and restaurant scene, and surrounded by some of the most scenic rolling countryside in the UK.
Shrewsbury is a medieval market town dating from 901. The town centre sits famously within the loop of the River Severn and boasts nearly half as many independent retailers as big chains (it reportedly has the longest street of intendent shops in the UK – the Wyle Cop’).
You’ll never be stuck for a cool place to grab a coffee or an interesting pitstop for a bite to eat.
The River Severn loop, flanked by two historic bridges – English and Welsh, wraps around the town and is a hive of activity, for rowing, canoeing and paddleboarding and events. You can walk, run or cycle alongside it – almost directly from the property.
And if your legs get tired, you can take a scenic boat ride on the Sabrina Boat (which ports just across the river) where you will also find three large restaurants with River views – Hickory’s Smokehouse, The Armoury and The Riverbank Bar and Grill, or hail a ride for free with Shrewsbury Rickshaws.
Theatre Severn which hosts plays, musicals, dance, comedy, music, talks, documentaries and much more all year round, is within a five-minute walk.
Shrewsbury has been voted as one of the best places to live many times by UK broadsheets and lifestyle magazines, and obviously year-on year by most of us who choose to live here!
Lovingly named the ‘Town of Flowers’ among the many shows and attractions held in Shrewsbury each year, is the Shrewsbury Flower Show, one of the UK’s premier horticulture shows which has been running for more than 130 years and culminates in two nights of dazzling firework displays set to music every August.
The close-by Quarry Park plays regular host to shows and festivals such as The Shrewsbury Food Festival, Kids Festival, Regatta, Oktoberfest, 80s festival and many other music concerts.

Our glorious indoor market, a bit of an ugly duckling itself, has been voted ‘Britain’s Favourite Market 2024,’ for the third time and for the second year in a row. There you’ll find more than 60 unique traders selling food and drink, the “hand crafted and the hard to find.”
There are also regular ‘Made in Shropshire’ artisan markets in the town’s historic square.
